Polish food and chowder sale

A pre-Lenten takeout-only food sale is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, February 5th at Holy Ghost Polish National Catholic Parish, Lloyd and Chestnut streets in Shenandoah. Patrons are asked to bring containers. Items include halushki, babka, krokiety and New England clam chowder. Bleenie sale

Our “Bleenie” sale took place in front of the Parish’s rectory on the 8th Anniversary of 9/11/01 – Friday, September 11, 2009.

It was a hard work but we joined together in our effort to support the Parish and keep our doors open. Everyone who came and help showed their dedication to the church.

The first parishioners arrived around 6am to prepare everything for sale. The sale started at 10am. Just as the sale started it began to rain. It rained all day long.

A special “thank you” to Mrs. Mary Ann Hoppes, Joe and Peggy Rejent, Mrs. Violet Cegielski, Mrs. Claire Mallick, Mrs. Geraldine Andrews, Jim and Geraldine Panco, Joe and Theresa Petrusky, Mrs. Anne and Amy Andruscavage, Mr. Jacob Komara, Mrs. Christine Donnelly and Mr. Julian Bednarek for your faithful appearance and work at our “bleenie” sale.

We can never thank you enough for your help. Many THANKS for all donations!

Flea Market success and our upcoming Bleenie Sale

A “Flea Market” was held in our church hall on Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 8:00AM to 2:00PM. Parishioners sold various items as well as home made food.

Thank you very much to our Parishioners for preparing this event for our church. A special “thanks” to Mr. Jacob Komara, Mrs. Ann and Amy Andruscavage, Mrs. Geraldine Andrews, Mrs. Claire Mallick, Mrs. Violet Cegielski, Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Theresa Petrusky, Mr. William and Mrs. Kellie Solnoki, Mrs. Mary Ann Hoppes, Mr. John Golba, Mr. John Blickley for their dedication and all kind of help. May God bless you all!

The next event – our ”Bleenie” Sale will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009. All are welcome!

Our bleenie and food sale

One of the important fundraisers for our Parish (to keep our congregation alive) is “bleenie” and food sale. We discussed this project at our Annual Parish meeting and worked out the details at the last Parish Committee meeting, held on Sunday, April 19, 2009.

This event took place in the Holy Ghost church hall, and at the front of the rectory on Friday, May 1, 2009.
The first parishioners came on that day around 5:30am to prepare everything for sale. We offered: “bleenies” (potato pancakes), gołąbki (pigs-in-the-blanket), soups (vegetable soup and Italian wedding soup), halushki, krokiety and cakes. The sale started at 10:00AM.

God sent us a blessing. We thought that sales would be slow because we had a cloudy and rainy day…but the people came from all around, some from quite far, to buy a food. The tables were emptied and the sale was concluded by 1:30pm. We were tired because of the work, however you can see a smiles on our faces. We were proud to do this work for our community, for our parish and for ourselves.

A special “thank you” to: Mrs. Mary Ann Hoppes, Mr. John Golba, Mr. Stanley Bulcavage, Mrs. Violet Cegielski, Mrs. Claire Mallick, Mrs. Geraldine Andrews, Mr. Jacob Komara, Mr. Julian Bednarek, Mr. John Blickley, Joe and Theresa Petrusky. We can never thank you enough for your help.
