Solemnity – Brotherly Love, September 13, 2009

The Solemnity of Brotherly Love is observed by the Polish National Catholic on the second Sunday of September. On this day members of the PNCC and the PNU of America – Spójnia, strive to increase their faith and spirituality, and their love for all God’s people; they express a desire to live daily the Two Commandments of Love. Through His words and actions Jesus taught that unselfish love for God and His people was the most important thing in life. This teaching of Jesus Christ is commonly known as the “Golden Rule.”

Jesus said: “Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the Law of Moses and of the teachings of the prophets” (Matthew 7:12)

“Do not, my brothers, speak ill of one another. The one who speaks ill of his brother or judges his brother is speaking against the law. It is the law he judges. If, however, you judge the law you are no observer of the law, you are its judge. There is but one Lawgiver and Judge, one can save and destroy. Who then are you to judge your neighbor?” (James 4:11-12)
